Returning to the tradition of nineteenth and early twentieth century bookplates, Bloomfield and Rolfe are pleased to offer the 'Bespoke Bookplate'.

Ex Libris bookplates and stamps were originally designed to incorporate aspects of the owner's life. This could be their work, their heritage, their home, their interests - or in true Victorian style.  a pun on their name.

A totally original, hand-illustrated bookplate capturing the recipient's life.

Perfect for those landmark birthdays or as an anniversary or retirement gift.

Approx 10 x 6cm with a smart black handle, or mounted on a perspex block making it perfect for display when not in use.

ONLY £80 including FREE black ink pad and gift box

More examples of our bookplates can be found at our blog here.

See below for more information or visit our online shop to place an order.

(Please note: our bespoke bookplates are intended and most suited to adults, who have had a few life experiences. However, we're more than happy to create a bespoke design more suitable for a child and have enjoyed doing so in the past. Please contact orders@bloomfieldandrolfe.com with any ideas you might have and we'll be happy to discuss with you.)

In order to produce the bookplate we will need to know about the recipients life, this can include:
Their place of birth
Where they live
Other significant places
Their nationality
Their profession
Their hobbies and interests
Puns on their name (if possible)

... or even something that holds significance for both the giver and receiver.

I LOVE the bookplate - you did such a fantastic job - I’m sure Nancy will love it and I can’t wait to give it to her.

Typically we can incorporate between 5-7 illustrations into the design. We prefer to have the freedom to choose which elements to use as not everything can always be included. If there are any 'essential' elements you should indicate this at the time of order.

There is no specific character limit for the recipient's name, however, the designs work best when the name is split over 3-4 lines. If the recipient has a lot of middle names it is better to abbreviate.

Designs will resemble the examples above in style, but will be entirely unique to the recipient.Unfortunately we are unable to offer a proofing service. Typical dispatch time is 3 weeks from order, please contact us if you need it faster and we'll try and help where possible.
