Much merriment was had last week in the B&R creative studio showcasing what can be done with our super new DIY Bauble Cards.
Cue glitter, glue sticks, inks, crayons, paints, stars, tissue paper and beads and a whole lot of festive fun.
We supply the cards blank but pre-cut with the bauble all ready to push out - there's a piece of red and white twine and matching high-quality envelope in the pack too so all you have to do is spread the newspaper out and get going!
Your friends and family will love receiving a unique, homemade card which also doubles as a hanging tree decoration to be treasured and if you and your kids enjoy creating your own Christmas cards as much as we did it’ll be a great start to a very Merry Christmas.
Order your blank cards now and make half term a super organised Christmas crafty session. That might seem early but you might just need that much time to let the glitter glue dry...
Here are some ideas to try...
Try using brightly coloured ink to paint the whole card, or part of the bauble and decorate with lines of glitter or light-catching beads.
Get some stick on eyes and have fun making characters. Don't just stick to the bauble in the middle, you can decorate the frame too.
Get personal and make monograms, add a name, or even make your actual message the design.
Go trend-led and create an abstract geometric pattern using neon wax crayons, then apply a light paint wash over the top in contrasting bright colours – viola a Christmas card with a 90s tribal twist!
If you’d rather leave the glitter in the tube, get the paints and precision out, use the card as you would a sketchbook or canvas. The cards take watercolour particularly well; and we love this Stormy Grey Herbin ink that has gold sparkles in it (available from Bureau Direct).
This is one of our faves – a carefully honed artwork that will look as fab on the tree as it did as a Christmas card. Check out the video below to see Rolfe painting these wintery fronds.
